Physical and mental support

“I started seeing Curt in 2015 as I was struggling with my hip and really needed hip surgery. For 2 years, through working with Curt, we managed to build up the muscle to keep me going as long as possible without surgery. I also had suffered most of my life with a very bad knee from having surgery on it at 14. At 40 years old, I started seeing Curt and after 6 years of training with him I have now had no knee pain for 5 years and I’ve also started skiing again. Eventually, I had to succumb to having hip surgery, however I was back driving after 10 days and Fully functional after only 9 weeks. This was all due to the preparation that Curt helped me with before the surgery. My surgeon Max Fehily even said that it was the fastest he had known anybody to recover from hip surgery. I was back in the gym with Curt only 4 days later, slowly working on rehabilitation. On top of all of this, I had suffered with depression because of my hip. Curt was a massive support not only helping me physically but also mentally. I can’t thank him enough and I continue to train weekly with Curt and would highly recommend him to anyone.”

Rehabilitation

“I started seeing Curt for personal training after I had a lower back injury from a bad fall this summer. I was struggling physically and mentally with the injury but with Curt’s constant support and expert knowledge over the past 3 months, I have fully recovered from my back Injury and I’m now the strongest I’ve been! Curt helped me to slowly build up the strength in my back and core, as well as working on my upper and lower body. I’m really looking forward to continuing to train with Curt to build up my overall fitness and target specific areas. I would highly recommend Curt to anyone whether it be for general training or rehabilitation from injury. Weight loss

“Despite training regularly, I was unable to lose any weight. Curt provided me with a formula to calculate what my daily calorie intake should be in order to lose weight. He trained me in the use of an App which logs everything that I eat and provides a daily total of my actual calories consumed. I summarise everything on a spreadsheet and have a weekly weigh-in which I report back to him. I have kept rigorously to the process and the targets and after 9 weeks have lost 1½ stone or (10Kg). I am the lightest I have been in 10 years. There is no way I could have done this on my own. Curt’s technical knowledge and weekly encouragement were vital to me commencing and sticking with, the programme. What’s more I now have the tools in place to continue with this and make a permanent change.”

Diet advice

“I’ve known Curt for a few years now and he has done some amazing programmes for me and his classes are great. Although I exercised 5/6 days a week before lockdown I never seemed to lose weight. Curtis has always told me that losing weight is simply down to calorie consumption. One morning I decided to try my work pants on and step on the scales after doing no exercise and eating pretty much all the wrong things during lockdown, I had the shock of my life at what I weighed and how tight my trousers were. So, I gave my head a wobble and spoke to Curt about my calorie consumption and it turns out Curt was right, he used a formula to work out how much I should be consuming and gave me a way to easily and quickly track it. He always said I can’t have been 100% honest with myself when it came to my calories (eating & drinking) and he was right. Sometimes we trick ourselves into thinking we are. Curtis has been amazing, always at the end of the phone for encouragement and advice on what to do next and setting me little challenges to keep me motivated. All in all it ended up with me losing a stone and a half and feeling better than I have in years. If you are looking for someone with the knowledge and enthusiasm to help you on your journey be it getting fitter or losing weight then Curt really is the guy, he is so passionate and his knowledge is endless and he really listens to your goals, plus he gets just as much satisfaction out of helping you and seeing the results as you do yourself. “Curt has been a “personal trainer” to me over the last 18 months. In this short time I’ve managed to more than double my strength. An amazing result by any measure. As well as gaining strength my body shape has significantly changed and thankfully my waist size has shrunk too, all without restricting food intake. He is really knowledgeable and mixes the sessions up so I never get stuck into a rut. He’s particularly good at designing routines that work multiple muscle groups at the same time which gives you better results for the same amount of gym time. I’ve never picked up an injury whilst he’s been training me. He’s also great at working with you if you are coming back from injury or have some minor “niggles” by modifying routines. He keeps right up to date with the latest exercise ideas and incorporates them when appropriate. Technique is always put first as doing it right is the only way to do it… My only regret is that I didn’t get started with Curt much sooner in my training years. So what’s stopping you, give it a try and I’m sure you’ll be more than pleased with the result.”

Rehabilitation

“In 2018 I had major surgery to my spine after my spinal chord had come under pressure from a herniated disc, this resulted in me having some permanent walking issues including drop foot, clonus and neuropathy. I knew my rehabilitation was not going to be straight forward and needed someone to guide me & help me regain strength whilst also avoided further injury, I reached out to Curt knowing he was skilled in his field but also confident that what he didn’t understand he would research. This proved to be the best move I could of made, using bespoke one on one sessions Curt built up my confidence under his expert supervision whilst also designing me a number of bespoke workout sessions designed to strengthen and also to allow me to progress. Having reviewed my progress with the hospital they were surprised with how far I had progressed in such a short time which is testament to Curt’s expertise. I thoroughly recommend Curt for all your fitness goals, whether you be looking to get fit, further your strength or need rehab work.”

Family fitness

“During Covid 19, like lots of other people we were struggling to keep our son Louis entertained and keep up with his fitness. After speaking to a few work colleagues they recommended Curtis to contact to see if he could help. Curtis was approachable, polite and extremely helpful from the first telephone call. With our son playing for Morecambe football club we explained that he needed to keep up his fitness and be ready for when the football season started again. Curtis explained what he would work on and how he can build a programme which would build Louis’s fitness up and keep it enjoyable at all times, we really appreciated that he offered to travel to a playing field near our house and work with Louis so that we weren’t having to travel. By the second week we noticed a dramatic improvement in his fitness and stamina as well as Louis really enjoying the sessions, Curtis had looked at the fitness programmes that Morecambe had sent and built his programme round these needed. Curtis has a very positive attitude and is always challenging Louis to keep improving and developing in both his fitness and speed as well as working on improving his strength which he had never really worked on previous and we have seen a massive change in Louis’s physique from the sessions.

His passion and professionalism for what he does is second to none whilst building a programme around the individuals needs and areas which you want to develop.
